Research Methods & Design

I had my first experience with research during my Research Methods & Design class. We were tasked with creating a research project which we would work on for the entire semester. Since this was a group assignment, it was very important to be able to organize the thoughts and ideas of my group members as well as the collective research we gathered. This began by having all group members share their ideas for the project and various topics of interest. Afterwards, class time was taken to share gathered research and build the body of knowledge we would later use to piece together our final project. By sharing our unique perspectives and our collective ideas we were able to explore a novel research question that still had relevance to us all (Original Research Level 1 & 2). Since research is built upon a foundation of previous research, it was important for all of us to read carefully many different sources used for our project and write down a concise summary of it (Information Synthesis Level 1).
